Fergus & Trijntje and the Temple Walls

Hello - here's a glimpse of the Walls for our home at Middle Path

Temple Foundations

The foundations completed - ready for the rammed earth walls whose forms can be seen at upper right.

And so it came to pass on October 2nd that the first setup was done and ramming the walls started.

Here are the team at work on the first section.

We start Ramming
First section complete

Here's the first wall section completed - still with most of the form-work in place.

You can see the earth peeping through where the bottom form has been removed.

The setup for the next section has been started in front of the rammed wall section - the tall steel form is an octagonal corner forming part of the inner octagon.

Details of the lintel fixing system.

Looking down from above, the well-seasoned lintel beam sits in a cutout in the earth wall, cushioned by sand which is kept in place by two malthoid rolls wedged in place.
